Shri M V Balasubramanyam served as the Chief General Manager of Union Bank of India, where he led the Treasury, Domestic Foreign Business, and International Banking Division at the bank’s Corporate Office in Mumbai. With over three decades of extensive banking experience, he has played a significant role in the industry.
A postgraduate in Agriculture, Shri Balasubramanyam has worked in various capacities across rural, semi-urban, urban, and metropolitan areas, both at branch and administrative levels across the country.
He has led key branches in Bangalore, Gujarat, and Chennai and has played a pivotal role in heading the bank’s CAPS branches in Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, and Bangalore, which provide specialized services for corporate clients.
As Zonal Head, he was responsible for the Bhopal Zone, covering Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, as well as the Bangalore (South) Zone. In his role as General Manager, he managed the bank’s extensive Circles in Bangalore, overseeing operations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, parts of Andhra Pradesh, and Mumbai—which included Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh under Corporation Bank.
Following the amalgamation, Shri Balasubramanyam was appointed to head the Field General Manager’s Office at Union Bank of India, Mangalore, overseeing the banking operations across Kerala.
A strong advocate for leadership and professional development, he has participated in numerous executive development programs at prestigious institutions and engaged in various banking and finance forums. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades and awards and continues to be an active member of several industry associations.
